Serial number of 196 puts this 'Jumbuck' JB-6 at about a 1981 manufacture date. Only 315 of these expensive guitars were made by Maton between 1977 and 1984, with a retail price of $935 back in '83 (according to the Maton Guitars website). Rock maple neck combined with Australian Sassafras body and super-rigid construction gives the same legendary sustain and tone of the JB-4 bass. This JB6 electric guitar is supremely comfortable, yet weighs in at a beautifully light 7.5 pounds. Original Satin finish is in fair to good condition, with the usual amount of belt buckle rash and handling marks giving the guitar some character. Definitely played, not abused. Sold to Jeffery in Illinois, USA.
